Wow, etherpad.com is a great tool for realtime collaboration (think conference calls) Watch the 90 second screencast.
It actually allows you to work on the same text simultaneously. Amazing!
They have support forums and FAQ's as well as the standard blog to keep users updated.
If you have a need for business (or school) wide sharing, you can run your own EtherPad server inside your network with a perpetual license (no affiliation).
But, the Free edition can work for those "need to have" situations.
