Thank you Jonathan Feinberg

Jonathan Feinberg, the creator of Wordle, just announced his cooperation in assisting to make Wordle safer for students.
On his Wordle Blog, he took the suggestion of a teacher from Illinois and has pledged:

"that from now on, the Wordle front page will never feature images or links that are inappropriate for classroom use. It's now possible to configure an institution's "site-blocking" software to keep Wordle safe for classroom use.

Simply have your networking administrator block the following base URLs1:

More and more web 2.0 tools are becoming safer.  Although I am a firm believer in teaching "making good choices", it certainly helps if inappropriate material is banned from the frontpages of useful sites.
