Looking for clozure?

cloZure is a free web tool written by Peter Shanks that generates cloze tests from wikipedia articles.

You can start using cloZure in one of 3 ways:
enter a search term in the search box on the right
browse through the category listings or
- drill down through the indexes

Once you've found a topic, click on it and try out an instant cloze test.

The cloze tests created on this site inherit the wikipedia's GNU Free Documentation License , which means that you can copy and modify any test(s) as long as the resulting work (including additions) remains under this license. It would also be nice if you included a link back to in your credits.

This is an interesting method for review of some topics.

A cloze test (also cloze deletion test) is an exercise, test, or assessment consisting of a portion of text with certain words removed, where the participant is asked to replace the missing words. Cloze tests require the ability to understand context and vocabulary in order to identify the correct words or type of words that belong in the deleted passages of a text. The word cloze derives from closure in Gestalt theory. The exercise was first described by W.L. Taylor in 1953.
